We recently held our company Christmas party here and our employees loved it. The shop, event space We liked a lot of their wines. I don't like sweet wines so that is the only reason I don't like Vienna is located on the banks of the Nanticoke River that helped this town become a shipping and ship building center in the early 's.
As time went by Vienna lost its econimic status for a while. And yes, there is still a button factory with thousands of buttons all over it While the Button Factory is still there you would have to get the Dorchester County Tourism people to open it for you. However, you can look in and see it Then journey nearby to a lovely winery Layton's Choice for a tour and tasting: The wine is good and the people Pam are delightful.
You will not regret the stop. It was enjoyable but pricey. They did not offer anything to clear the palate. I feel there is room for improvement if they Buttons And Bows - Betty Rhodes - Buttons And Bows / I Still Get A Thrill (Shellac) to offer authentic wine tasting.
It sounds like you visited during our annual Harvest Festival. This event offers fun for the whole family including pony rides, grape stomping, hay rides, a moon bounce and live music. At this event, the wine tasting fee included a souvenir glass. If you are interested in a more traditional tasting, please stop by the tasting room during open hours.
We'd love to see you again! This was our first visit. The day we visited they were having free entertainment. We always like to do a tasting first so that we can pick a bottle to enjoy there while enjoying the entertainment. I normally don't care for red wines but these 2 were really good.
We bought 4 bottles to take home and 1 to enjoy there. We also enjoyed their wine slushies. They had a sign about sangria but the employee said they didn't have it on the day we Buttons And Bows - Betty Rhodes - Buttons And Bows / I Still Get A Thrill (Shellac) there. The employee serving us was very distracted talking to other employees while we were doing our tasting so I felt we didn't really find out anything about the Vineyard or their wines.
She wasn't very personable. We did have to ask for an ice bucket for our bottle and another couple wasn't given one either.
When they went back in to get one they said they were all out of buckets. They were very busy but there was plenty of outdoor space between tables and chairs. There are outdoor games and there is a playground for the kids. We definitely enjoyed ourselves. Worth the drive from Salisbury. Location is very different from your normal Vineyard. Wide open spaces, great The Most Beautiful Girl In The World - Guy Lombardo And His Royal Canadians - The Sweetest Music Thi, great people with excellent events.
No real downside. We stopped at Layton's Chance for a tasting while we were away for a girls weekend. I loved that they had seats that you could sit at while you were doing your tasting, you don't see that very often.
We tried the semi-sweet and sweet wines and they were all delicious. We especially loved the wine slushies they had. The staff were very friendly and informative, overall we really enjoyed Layton's Chance and will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for a lovely review! We hope you can make it back for a tour or concert when the sun is shining! We discovered their wines at last years "Wine In the Woods" festival and while in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake I reviewed them as well we saw a brochure for the winery.
At the festival my wife fell in love with their Bo Berry Strawberry and immediately said we needed go to the winery! Everyone there seems to really enjoy working there and many are part-time. It's great to see people excited about their jobs somehow it makes the wine taste that much better.
Everyone commented they feel more like family than employees which really comes across when you talk to the employees. There are a few options for tasting and we chose the Premium tasting option. The pourings are generous so keep that in mind! We arrived close to closing so we did not tour the grounds but we have already decided we will go back later when we visit the Hyatt later this Spring.
We decided to join the Gold Leaf Club for the additional discount on the wine we decided to purchase. The winery has concerts throughout the year and with the membership your entry is free for two people so after about two concerts it pretty much pays for itself.
Also you can bring 4 friends for tasting each time you visit :. We left with a nice haul on Saturday. She was also a pleasure to work with and just like Robin had us laughing while we enjoyed our tasting. I had an Imposter and the wife enjoyed the wine slushy. Buttons And Bows - Betty Rhodes - Buttons And Bows / I Still Get A Thrill (Shellac) If beer is your thing check out their Imposter Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - AC/DC - The Essential two flavors a traditional beer taste and then a cherry flavored one.
The wine slushy comes in two flavors and both are amazing. Pets are welcomed at the winery. Make sure to try the Joe's Cool Red Turbo!
