My daughter is turning 6 next month. So since we are trying to be a little less extravagant this year and doing a smaller party than usual I thought that we could give her a bubblegum themed birthday party my little girl loves bubblegum like you wouldn't believe because then we could use generic pink plates, balloons and streamers to save a bit of money instead of all the character themed items you have to buy when you do a character themed party.
Sounds like Sandi could use a few pieces of bubblegum herself Lucky for yours and my kids we do :. I saw a really cute cupcake cake idea. The drew an outline of a large round red gumball machine, then they stuck toothpicks thru it and stuck red, yellow, blue and green cupcakes to it or pink and white to Divagando - A Kal Y Kanto - Locos pero con sentido your party You could probably adhere the picture to a piece of styrofoam, making the toothpicks easier to adhere and then you could stand it up too.
The cotton ball game is fun Spread the cottonballs on the floor, the person who is it is blindfolded and handed the spatula, they have three tries to scoop as many cottonballs into the bowl as they can. Problem is you can't feel the cottonballs! So funny to cheer them on saying Oooo you have so many when they may only have one!
Whoever scoops the most cottonballs into the bowl wins I hope you guys have a blast!! Depending on how computer savvy you are, or go to your closest Kinkos not too cost effective you could scan the wrapper of your daughters favorite bubble gum and use that as the background for her invitations. Then also ask each guest to bring a pack of their favorite gum and do some sort of game or trading type thing with those.
That way each child might get to try some gum they haven't had yet. Or with the packs you could open them up and put all the pieces in a bowl or container of some sort and do a similar game like you have with the gumballs in the jar.
A twist on pin the tail on the donkey could be, pin the bubble on Mr Bubble and just use his character for the game. Create his image out of cotton balls on a poster board then have the kids blow bubbles and try to stick their bubble in the appropriate spot.
Since this has a huge potential for a lot of gum on the floor, I might suggest a drop cloth. You sound serious about this but I think it's probably the lamest idea for a kids birthday I have heard.
You are just drugging them up with a sugar fix big time with no imagination. You can have a fun party with sweets, cake etc but with other foods. I just read your question again and to be honest I am too tired to go into it.
Do what you want. We did one for our kids a few years back. We made signs that lined our sidewalk with arrows pointing to the different 'rooms' in the factory--chocolate fountain, etc. I painted giant lollipops on cardboard and used wooden dowels for the handles and made a lollipop forest.
Later, I used double sided tape and taped alka seltzers to the middle of them. Then the kids used squirt guns and 'raced' to see who could melt their tablet first. It was lots of fun. We used Willy Wonka Chocolate bars for the invitations do they still make those?? I opened the outside wrapper on each In The Pink - Paul Nero Sounds* - Bubble Gum Party (Non Stop Party Fire) inserted a golden ticket that had the party info on it.
I went to Goodwill and got some giant glass jars--filled them with candies for decorations as the candy store. Ummmm, I will try and remember the rest and post them later!! Ahh, we rented a cotton candy machine for the day too!
Look on Ebay for the Willy Wonka hats--they would be fun to pass out for the kids to wear!
